I hope you’ll consider selecting me as Chair of the Hollywood Section. If you’re at #nab2023 come by the Adobe booth N2438 to see it for yourself - or watch this video: This is one of those things where once you start using it, you’ll never look back. With Text-Based Editing, Premiere Pro turns the transcript into an essential video editing tool. After reviewing them source media, I can now read through my sequence transcript, and edit the text to shape the rough cut. And Text-Based Editing is even better than thst. Not only can I find what I need, I’m also confident that I’ve really reviewed ALL the content. Text-Based Editing in Premiere Pro - changes this fundamentally: Now I can scan transcripts (faster) or search for key words (way faster). Sometimes I just grab the first shots that work, because I don’t have the time (or the patience) to keep reviewing. And honestly, I don’t always trust myself to really review everything, every time. We don’t talk enough about the first part: choosing the shots you want to use is so important - but the process of reviewing all your source media can be so tedious. There are two stages in almost every editing project: The first stage is choosing the media you want to use, and the second part is arranging it on the Timeline to tell the story.
